(Cape Town). Quoin Rock opens its doors to a range of new culinary activities offering guests a fully immersive experience, with Christmas and New Year’s Eve highlights, promising a very festive season line-up.
Summer delights include gourmet picnics and masterclasses. Picnic at Quoin Rock outings run
from Thursday to Sunday from 12pm to 5pm. These plastic-free picnics feature a set menu with vegetarian and vegan options inspired by Head Chef Nicole Loubser and her creative team.
At R400 per person, Quoin Rock’s daytime picnic basket bistronomy includes ambrosial items such as sustainable Foie Gras, Panna Cotta, cheese and charcuterie, with additional unexpected gastronomic surprises. Unlimited still and sparkling waters included. Patrons can purchase award-winning QR wine by the glass or bottle.
An additional option of MCC and Oysters also available. R95 for a Kids Lunch Pack.
Gåte at Quoin Rock Masterclass & Tasting Journey
On 6 November and 4 December 2019 Gåte at Quoin Rock offers guests a first-ever, hands on interactive molecular masterclass and paired six-course tasting journey
With its team of 11 creative culinary masterminds lead by Head Chef, Nicole Loubser, participants are given the know-how behind signature dishes boasted on the ‘Journey around the World’ menu.
Following the cellar tour and masterclass Gåte welcomes guests to the next leg of the journey - a six-course luncheon and wine, cocktail or tea pairing, inspired by the flavours of the world.
Commencing with a tour of the wine cellar, the experience runs from 11am to 3pm. Limited to 12 people per masterclass, at R1800 per person and includes gifting of a unique Gåte at Quoin Rock chefs’ apron and trendy baseball style chefs’ hat.
Festive Christmas Lunch and Christmas Dinner at Quoin Rock
In the festive spirit of Christmas Gåte invites families and friends alike to a superlative Christmas Day lunch on the sunny slopes of the Simonsberg in the radiant and lush Stellenbosch Wine Region.
Running from 12pm to 3pm the offering includes a glass of Quoin Rock MCC upon arrival, a delectable six-course lunch with wine or molecular cocktail pairing, a special gift from Quoin Rock and Christmas cookies made by Chef Nicole to take home.
For the kiddies enjoyment, a giant Gingerbread House, face painting, jumping castle and animator entertain children.
Adult Menu is R1 500.00 per person. Non-alcoholic options such as tea pairings and mocktail
pairings are available. Children’s Menu R 150.00 per child, which includes a giant Gingerbread house to snack on.
Christmas Dinner features a new seven-course menu offering comprising three completely new courses curated by Head Chef Nicole Loubser.
The night time Christmas Menu includes a food and wine or tea pairing experience, complimentary waters, delectable arrival drinks and after dinner digestif. From 6.30pm for 7pm the Christmas Dinner is R2 750.00 per person, service fee included. Regrettably no children.
This anticipated annual calendar celebration will be accompanied by acoustic ambience with acclaimed live jazz and vocal performances.
New Year’s Eve at Gate at Quoin Rock
Rounding off 2019 on an elevated note of elegance and ardour, Gåte at Quoin Rock gears up for an unparalleled magical experience. Expect the unexpected! This high-spirited occasion features a 14-course New Year’s dinner menu, complimentary glass of festive-fizz upon arrival, global gastronomic food and wine pairing experience (non-alcoholic options available), waters for the table, and of course a festive after dinner drink to spearhead the party!
Easing guests into the evening is jazz trio, Alvin Dyers and co. from 6pm to 10 pm, followed by a live DJ performance for uplifting upbeat entertainment driving Old Year’s Eve into 2010 with a spectacular soiree. Patrons will also be gifted with Black Series MCC to continue the celebration in the new year.
