First Thursday Cult Classic Series at 15 On Orange, Autograph Collection

Tarantino’s films are known for intricately woven individual stories with engaging characters and on-screen violence. Quentin has been turning heads since his first film ‘Reservoir Dogs’ and has continued to do so with all of his films including the upcoming and much anticipated ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’ starring Leonardo Dicaprio, Margot Robbie and Brad Pitt.

Tarantino’s feature films have received countless awards and praises, 15 On Orange Hotel will be showcasing Tarantino’s all-time classics and fan favourites on First Thursday in July and August 2019.

Without a doubt and an easy choice for the second Cult Classic screening will be the award-winning Pulp Fiction with a star-studded cast by the likes of Samuel L. Jackson, John Travolta, Uma Thurman and Bruce Willis to name a few. The film revolves around two hitmen with a fondness for philosophical discussions. In this ultra-hip crime movie, their storyline is interwoven with those of their boss/gangster, his actress wife, a struggling boxer, master fixer and an anxious pair of armed robbers.

For the next screening the chosen film is Inglourious Basterds, which might be his most entertaining one of them all, with scenes of high-tension verbal sparring and scalp-smashing mayhem, all erupting when Tarantino’s band of vigilantes (led by Brad Pitt’s drawling lieutenant Aldo Raine) gun down their German rivals in a blaze of glory. Basterds is also notable for introducing the world to Christoph Waltz, who won the Oscar for his performance as the silver-tongued sociopath Colonel Landa, one of the most compelling film villains in history. This film left a distinguished mark in Tarantino's filmography.

Guests can expect to watch their all-time favourite movies in luxurious comfort with an elegantly furnished lounge-style cinema, mouth-watering movie box meals and artfully crafted; Wixworth Gin welcome drinks. Cocoafair will be offering guests decadent hot chocolate halfway through the film. This all-inclusive sensorial experience only costs R185 per person. Seating is limited and bookings in advance essential. Book your tickets now on Quicket (https://qkt.io/cultclassics) or email melissa@redcarpetconcepts.co.za. for more information.

15 on Orange Urban Oasis Offers a Fresh Take on First Thursdays

(Cape Town, South Africa) 15 on Orange offers a refreshing new take on First Thursdays with a fully immersive five- star cinematic experience - The Autograph Collection - Art of Gin First Thursday Movie Nights.

The sensorial experience is set in an opulent, elegantly furnished lounge-style cinema, offering ultimate comfort and relaxation.

This series of experiential evenings kicked off on Thursday, 2 May 2019, with Tracy-Lee Rosslind’s Alice in Wonderland themed birthday celebration, hosting esteemed guests Nadia Jaftha, Alyssa Kirby Cole, Sheri Greenway, Jade Robertson, Nuzhah Jacobs, Aqeelah Harron Ally and Kiara Kittner to name a few.

With an artistic take on First Thursdays, the Winter Edition of Quentin Tarantino Cult Classics will premier to the public on Thursday 6 June. Quentin’s films are characterized by their non sequential story lines with a satirical flair and references to pop culture. He is the king of on-screen violence and elongated dialogues, his casts often consists of well-known and respected actors.  One of his first and most well-known award winning films; Kill Bill Vol.1 will kick off the series.

A former assassin, known simply as The Bride (Uma Thurman), wakes up from a coma four years after her jealous ex-lover Bill (David Carradine) attempts to murder her on her wedding day. She is driven by an unquenchable need for revenge, she makes it her mission to get even with every person who contributed to the loss of her unborn child, her entire wedding party, and four years of her life. The Bride sets off on her pursuit of justice, enduring unthinkable injuries and immoral enemies.

Tarantino’s second feature film is one of the very best crime dramas ever with engaging characters; non‑stop action; and intricately woven individual stories, Pulp Fiction follows on 4 July 2019. Vincent Vega (John Travolta) and Jules Winnfield (Samuel L. Jackson) are hitmen with a fondness for philosophical discussions. In this ultra-hip crime movie, their storyline is interwoven with those of their boss, gangster Marsellus Wallace (Ving Rhames) ; his actress wife, Mia (Uma Thurman) ; struggling boxer Butch Coolidge (Bruce Willis) ; master fixer Winston Wolfe (Harvey Keitel) and an anxious pair of armed robbers, "Pumpkin" (Tim Roth) and "Honey Bunny" (Amanda Plummer).

By now, you’d think that we’d have become accustomed to Tarantino pulling the rug out from under our feet. After all, this is the man who made his name with a heist film that didn’t actually have a heist in it. Yet within the first five minutes of Inglorious Basterds, it’s clear that he’s done it again. It is the first year of Germany's occupation of France. Allied officer Lt. Aldo Raine (Brad Pitt) gathered a squad of Jewish soldiers to commit violent acts of retaliation against the Nazis. Pitt and his ensemble cast join forces with Bridget von Hammersmark, a German actress and undercover agent, to bring down the leaders of the Third Reich. Their fates intersect with theatre owner Shosanna Dreyfus, who pursues to take vengeance for the Nazis' execution of her family. On 1st of August the award-winning Inglorious Basterds will be showcased.

The Cult Classic screenings will commence at 7:30pm. The offering includes an art exhibition by Linnea Frank, a Wixworth Art of Gin mixology bar for welcome cocktails and a delectable movie meal at R185 per person, all inclusive. Seating is limited and bookings in advance essential. For more info go to the Facebook Event Page or email melissa@redcarpetconcepts.co.za.
