Red Carpet Creative and Travel Africa Network Reshape the Media Landscape

A new Broadcast Platform to Reboot Travel and Tourism throughout SA and Africa

(Cape Town). A brilliant new partnership between Red Carpet Creative and international broadcast partner, Travel Africa Network, sets out to reshape the media landscape, leveraging a global audience to reboot the travel and tourism industry throughout SA and Africa.

This collaboration between Red Carpet CREATIVE (RCC) - a PR, marketing and production agency for the luxury travel and hospitality sector, and Maggie Mutangiri, the Founder and Director of Travel Africa Network, was initiated earlier in 2020.

Red Carpet celebrates its 11th year in operation this September 2020, with the global proliferation marking its greatest milestone.

The innovative collab offers a 360-degree inter-continental marketing approach, with real-time audience interactivity. Geared towards local and international travel audiences, the broadcast business model with editorial-digi-commerce integration aims to reboot brands with a stronger bounce-back and global footprint. Their goal being to drive the rise in sustainable tourism, wildlife conservation, and economic SME stabilization.

“Africa has so many stories to tell. A continent rich in natural wildlife, culture, and undiscovered experiences. We will be showcasing the best this beautiful country and continent have to offer, highlighting its people, places, and natural wonders. Giving Africa a platform to tell its story to the world.” Notes RCC Founding Director, Jade Allen.

“With COVID19 becoming a major challenge for the tourism industry in 2020 and halting most, if not all, of this enormous sector of the economy, we believe we must get creative. Shifting our offerings and marketing strategies to stay afloat. There remains uncertainty not only as to how transport and accommodation services are able to implement strategies to facilitate social distancing measures, but also around how the regulations and tests at international borders will operate…

As the tourism industry works hard to recover from the impact of the current pandemic, tourism marketers are responsible for implementing the right marketing strategies to ensure their destinations remain competitive. Generating destination appeal in new and existing markets is essential in determining a city, resort or region’s global competitive position and its overall economic and developmental success.” Explains Matungiri.

The March 2021 launch of the Travel Africa global broadcast TV channel will deliver content to 135+ million homes and hotels across Europe, Middle East, and North Africa; covering everything from African culture, to gastronomy, the best places to travel and stay, and destination documentaries. A subsequent partnership has been forged with DSTV’s Spice TV, covering broadcast throughout SA and Africa with an additional 14 Million daily viewers.

The media impact of this is substantial. “The migration of both editorial and advertorial content with digital commerce from print and online to international broadcast is one of the ways we aim to offer brands a targeted, fast-reaching, and powerful platform for immediate conversions,” says Allen.

Using on-screen QR code integration for immediate ecommerce conversions - brands can now also drive bookings, purchases, and inquiries in real-time whilst watching their favourite 24-hour Africa Travel channel.

Red Carpet Creative’s global media partners, travel bloggers, influencers and photojournalists represent the publicity leg of their media landscape. “Celebrated film and TV presenters have joined us in pioneering yet another platform plugin with broadcast to social media content streaming via IGTV (Instagram TV) for direct engagement with local audiences.”

Long-seeded relationships built up and nurtured over a decade, culminating experience, and trust. Over the past decade Red Carpet has represented a host of bespoke travel, hospitality and lifestyle client brands such as Quoin Rock Wine Estate, La Petite Ferme, Webersburg, Benguela Cove, Haute Cabrière and Pierre Jourdan, Marriott Autograph Collection, RGBC, Blue Amber Resort, Dermalogica, Cape Royale, Shangri-La Nitida and The Grey Hotel.

“Our team of celebrity presenters include Bonnie Mbuli, Jeannie D, Katlego Maboe, Tracey Lange, Harmony Katolundi, Jade (Daniel) Hubner, Josie Eveleigh, Ayanda Dlamini, Mamohau Seasane and Seth Shezi, to name a few. As well as international TV show hosts Ernest White II (Fly Brother PBS) and Jennifer Su, both of whom are US based… All talk-worthy, enticing client content can be propagated across the continent via our plethora of media and social network channels,” she adds.

Calls-to-action for brand ROI will further be driven by social network affiliate programmes and promotions. “Affiliate programmes with #promocodes for booking specials, wildlife conservation and humanitarian donations or online purchases will be available for clients to further drive instant calls-to-action, with incredible offers throughout the travel and tourism sector.”

While Allen joined forces with Mutangiri, establishing local and international media partnerships, production, presenter and content teams for the global broadcast network, Melissa Crous took up the position as Operations Director and Partner at Red Carpet Creative.

Crous will oversee the running of all PR, marketing, and event related client accounts, with Allen playing her part in strategic applications and contribution towards conceptual brand development through TV broadcast and travel experiences.

Through extensive experience and benchmarking tactics, Crous’ experience covers all industry facets, from media relations and marketing, to graphic design, social media, website development, market research and event management.

As Allen, Crous and Mutangiri draw on their team of presenters, production specialists, travel agents, content producers, magazine partners, travel journalists and influencer affiliates, this power trio offers an all-embracing marketing and publicity solution for travel and tourism establishments, enterprises, and industry at large.

Happy Culture enters the cannabis market with Cherry CBD Kombucha

Cape Town, South Africa – On Friday, 13 December 2019, Happy Culture officially launched their much-anticipated new flavours. The Cherry CBD Kombucha and Zesty Energy Kombucha draw several key ingredients together to create an innovative experimental range that further boosts Happy Culture’s already goodness-filled living probiotic teas.

Placing Happy Culture firmly amongst the growing wave of businesses entering the cannabis market, the Cherry CBD Kombucha is an ingredient match made in heaven. The blend bursts with fruity, cherry flavour, and is infused with premium quality CBD oil for the optimal feel-good experience. It is elegant, dry, and beautifully balanced, with a delicate bubble to flawlessly complement this tasty drink.

Taking tonic to new heights is the Zesty Energy Kombucha. This drink has been infused with refreshing citrus and energy boosting guarana and ginseng. It’s an ideal way to invigorate both mind and body, and a perfect alternative to sugary and artificial energy drinks.

The launch event took the form of a gorgeous afternoon picnic, where guests shared in a beautiful boho-inspired celebration of all things natural. From flower garlands to Pilgrimage Spaces sun umbrellas, from floral dresses to curly tresses, the launch of these two new products was anything but formal – imbued with Happy Culture’s very essence. Extravagant cocktails and tantalising tea pairings at Quoin Rock

Gate @ Quoin Rock 008 1837 White Tea (1).jpg

Since its launch just over a year ago, Gåte at Quoin Rock has established itself as a trendsetter in the fine-dining world. Mixing art, science and passion has brought them thus far, so it’s no wonder that this beautifully designed restaurant continues to push boundaries in the culinary arena with the introduction of a signature cocktail menu that takes diners on a trip around the world.

Quoin Rock is perhaps better known for its vibrant collection of wines, or its creative molecular gastronomy at Gåte. Now guests will have a whole new reason to visit with their emerging cocktail culture and tempting tea pairings.

The seven signature drinks will be paired with the evening dining experience.  The experience also includes a signature welcome drink – a gold-dusted flute with Campari and sour apple, topped with a festive MCC. The warm colour is meant to resemble the arches as you enter the restaurant, while the gold dust is reminiscent of Gåte’s elegance and opulence.

Aptly named after the delectable dishes they are paired with; each cocktail is designed with careful thought around the flavours in the meal. With inspiration from around the world, diners travel through Italy, France, Canada, Austria, Japan, Greece, and Namibia, with ingredients as diverse as the countries mentioned – Aperol, Martell Congac, White Port, Sake, and Namysto Strawberry Wine.

Quoin Rock has partnered with Molecular Bars to bring this delightful pairing experience to diners. According to the mixologists behind each drink, complimentary flavours are chosen that assist and boost the flavours in the meal, but still create a well-balanced beverage.

Dino Batista, Director of Molecular Bars says; “Our big goal when it came to creating the seven signature cocktails along with an arrival drink was to ensure that patrons have a memorable experience, specifically when they get to the last couple of courses.” Creating smaller portions with beautiful flavour profiles was our aim”

For those less than intrigued by the prospect of so many alcoholic drinks – however small the portions – Gåte offers the option of serving their seven signature cocktails as mocktails. And, for the more health-conscious, they also have some tantalising tea pairings in store for guests.

Gåte has mastered the art of pairing tea with food, as it is just as important as knowing how to pick the wine for a delicious meal, or which seasonings work well with which dishes. Gåte‘s tea pairings is a unique culinary experience for those looking for something out of the ordinary.

Embark on a journey around the world from the comfort of your own elegant chair at the ever-refined Gåte. For an evening of dining and drinks pairings, these signature cocktails will set you back by R650. Only seven drinks will be served regardless of whether you enjoy a seven or a 14-course meal. For daytime diners, cocktails can be ordered separately at R115-R160 per drink.

Happy Culture champions healthy lifestyles with Kombucha

Happy Culture champions healthy lifestyles with kombucha

The kombucha craze has officially taken the world by storm, thanks to an increase in health and wellness globally and an ever-increasing demand for natural, good-for-you beverages in line with this. According to Global News Wire, this market is expected to grow to USD 5 billion by 2025. But let’s take a step back and explore what kombucha actually is, and how it can contribute to the health of your gut, immune system and more.

An ancient process revived

This ancient alchemy refers to a sweet tea undergoing a fermentation process. Traditional kombucha dates back as far as 2000 years. Originally brewed in Eastern Europe and Asia, this drink was first used in Japan and China to aid emperors with digestion issues.

Today, kombucha is believed to benefit the body’s overall health in many other ways. These include boosting the body’s immune system and energy levels, reducing the risk of cancer,

and the prevention of arthritis and high blood pressure. It can even be paired beautifully with food thanks to its palate-cleansing properties.

Championing happier, healthier lifestyles

Happy Culture Kombucha is a naturally invigorating drink that’s handcrafted with a special fermentation process honouring the ancient, eastern traditions. Using these authentic methods, the best natural ingredients and mineral water, Happy Culture has passionately created a delicious range of fizzy living teas to be enjoyed anytime, anywhere as a refreshing, uplifting and health-boosting drink.

Their range includes six exciting unique flavours blends, with something to suit every palate and every moment. Their signature style is fresh, clean, beautifully balanced and deliciously dry with an elegant but persistent bubble. A residual sugar content of less than 4g/100ml is an added bonus.

Mark Jones and Manon Colmant, the founders of Happy Culture, are wholeheartedly passionate in their vision to inspire wellbeing and happiness, and contributing towards a positive evolution on earth. And, with a background in Cap Classique and Champagne, they embarked on a journey to combine their passion for health with that of bubbly. During a travel odyssey they found their kombucha calling, and the rest, as they say, is history.

Happy gut, happy human

Kombucha is chock-full of health benefits and is often called ‘the champagne of life’. Its fermentation process induces a range of organic acids, probiotics, enzymes, B-vitamins and antioxidants. So it’s no wonder that it assists with improved digestion and gut flora, detoxifying the organs, energy boosts, strengthening the immune system and even weight loss.

As the trend towards non-alcoholic beverages continues to grow, kombucha will take its place in the front row as a key healthy alternative to sugary drinks and even sparkling wine or cider. The ingredients used in the making of kombucha are brewed tea, sugar and a live culture of beneficial bacteria and yeasts (known as a SCOBY). These live cultures, which are created by the tea and sugar, multiply themselves by feeding on it – ultimately working together to transform the sweet tea into a tangy-sweet living cultured tea.

The live cultures present in kombucha are produced through a combination of tea, sugar and SCOBY – Symbiotic Colony of Bacteria and Yeast. Ingredients undergo a first fermentation for around two weeks, followed by a second fermentation after filtration and bottling, at which point the natural effervescence will be created. Natural fruit juice, botanical extracts, or spices can be added for a burst of flavour.

Thanks to the green tea used, Happy Culture’s kombucha is full of antioxidants which boost the body’s immunity. Good bacteria (probiotics) assist in improving gut flora, which in turn leads to a stronger immune system, better absorption of nutrients, easier digestion and greater overall mental and physical wellbeing.

Building good, healthy habits with kombucha

Happy Culture’s production space in the idyllic Cape Winelands provides the perfect setting for brewing kombucha. Not only do they have access to precious ground water, but the team also plays Reiki healing music to their cultures 24 hours a day at 432 Hz to channel the good vibrations. They even have Himalayan salt lamps and Rose Quartz crystals scattered around the brew room to purify and add loving energy to the space.

With this in mind, it’s no wonder that Happy Culture is so focussed on giving you a healthier, happier life through their product. Happy Culture kombucha is made from 100% natural ingredients and is the lowest sugar kombucha on the market. An added benefit is the use of Kalahari Desert salt, giving a slightly savoury balance to each bottle. This acts as an electrolyte and gives consumers a buzz when drinking Happy Culture.

Connect with us to find out more about how you can improve your lifestyle with a little bottle of happiness every day.

Upmarket Lou Lou’s welcomes you to De Waterkant locale

Lou Lous 06-min (1).jpg

(Cape Town). Dynamic Lou Lou’s is at the heart of Cape Town’s trendy Cape Quarter, perfectly situated right on the square. She certainly caught the eye of new owner James Truter, “I fell in love with the venue when I walked in. For me that was the clincher - the look, the feel, the location. It’s got that old New York bar charm with a European piazza location. From a UK perspective one always goes to your local bar, but Cape Town doesn’t have a lot of those. So I thought here’s an opportunity.”

But in addition to the De Waterkant venue’s upmarket ambience, it’s their superb take on tapas, Asian fusion and Italian cuisine that makes this whisky bar and cocktail lounge a hot spot.

“Tapas is served all day and our popular sharing platter is a great size for two. We also cater for parties – we do canapés, set menus for sit down functions and a Party Platter feeding 10 people for R675,” says James.

Specialty Dishes range from Cape Malay Chicken Curry to Baked Parmigiana. Lunch Specials include delicious Arancini mushroom and truffle risotto balls for starters, followed by Mains delights like Rigatoni Vesuvio, James adds Chorizo for that extra kick. Our new Summer Thai Beef Salad is proving immensely popular, people love the fresh flavours and the zingy chilli dressing (served on the side so you don’t cry on your date).

Chef Chantelle de Souza brings experience garnered at Constantia Uitsig, Kalk Bay’s Annex and Villa 47. While her first love is rustic Italian dishes, she enjoys Asian fusion. “Our food is simple with bold flavours,” she adds. To top it all, her love of baking is evident tasting Lou Lou’s scrumptious cheesecake and 70% cocoa brownies.

Lou Lou’s dinner dance experience

Part of the novelty of Lou Lou’s is that it’s a club as well. “We serve alcohol up until 2am. We have DJs Thursdays to Saturday nights offering a dinner dance experience with no cover charge,” says James. The playlist sees DJ Chicco spinning pop, Afro house and R&B, while DJ El Fuego is in the booth on Saturdays and at Gay Village networking events buoyed on by camp disco beats.

“We’re a relaxed lunchtime and dinner venue, but then the lights go down, the music goes up and you can party. We also take over the square at night, so people spill out. And in winter people love to be inside at the fireplace, or watch sport on TV.”

“I want Lou Lou’s to be welcoming, like people are coming to my home. Staff are friendly and there’s a personal touch. It’s open to everybody and it’s never too early to have fun and live a little.”

Weekly treats include a Thursday Bubbly Special (3 glasses, R99 from 4pm). Fridays are G(in) & T(equila) day, with half price on both. October highlights include a buy one get one free special on Peroni draft and House Wine twice a day – 12pm to 2.30pm and 4pm to 8pm, because one happy hour isn’t enough! Every lunch time there’s a R65 selection of starters and mains.

Upcoming events include a Pink Dinner and Bingo Night in November, plus a New Year’s Eve Party

NEW YORK RUNWAY ZA REVEALS 2020 FASHION TRENDS

2V0A6122-2.jpg

SPRING-SUMMER FASHION FORECAST AT NEW YORK RUNWAY ZA

(Cape Town, South Africa) A fashion first for South Africa as New York Fashion Week’s finest were showcased at Cape Town Marriott Hotel Crystal Towers on Friday 11 October 2019. A global influx of world leading designers took to the catwalk at the inaugural New York Runway ZA.

The Red Carpet Creative Production in collaboration with Runway Prestige New York drew together the rich fashion cultures of the Big Apple and the Mother City under one roof. “A spectacular display of fashion luminaries” marks Red Carpet Creative CEO, Jade Allen. “We are honoured to have had the opportunity of presenting this first-ever collaboration on African soil. A cross-continental amalgamation of artistic expression, merging global fashion forward visionaries with varying style articulations.”

New York trends tended towards an eclectic diversity of styles, colours patterns and fabrics, commencing with a showstopping opening by acclaimed celebrity fashion designer, Michael Lombard. Using the highest grades of leather sourced from around the world Lombard vaunted Neo gothic eccentricity in bold designs with drastic angles, elaborately studded and embellished with space-age accents and accessories. “My collections are geared to make you feel you’re living your best life!”

Alluring Afro-centric attire for the successful businesswoman was next up by Else Hardjopawiro of VanElse. An integrated flavor of African and Pan African prints and patterns embedded within the sophisticated modern pieces with tailored pleats adding hints of Avant Garde expression. “By Accentuating certain parts of the female body makes my design radiate a feminine power” comments Hardjopawiro.

Color-blocking the runway was the House of Honee with electric tones of type peak, zesty lemon and blueberry, interspersed with metallic ensembles for a buoyant, head-turning juxtaposition. "I prefer the eclectic approach to define the bodies in a couchant and playful manner" adds Honee

The final showcasing NYC designer, Henry Picado for ESTE & CHLO, escalated couture elevation with his elegant evening-wear ensembles, including his piece designed for Lady Gaga. Integrating classic and contemporary hand-crafted garments articulating bespoke expression inspired by the glamour of Hollywood. Picardo explains: “Fashion is an art and we must find our own masterpiece.”

Representing the forefront of local fashion, capturing summer with captivating prints on soft-flowing fabrics, was BeachCult by Joanna Hedley. Her latest Midnight Safari collection featured the Prowling Leopard print by Emijl De Kock in a series of luxe swim and beachwear attire for him and her. A portion of the proceeds of the Prowling Leopard print are donated to the Endangered Wildlife Trust to help protect the precious animals of Southern Africa.

Delicious, citrus, floral notes, with long duster coats over skintight lycra with Crepe, linen, silk and feathers! “It’s everything you need to kick off the summer season” says Malcolm KLûK of KLûK CGDT commenting on the duo’s new fruity fabulous assortment. Wide culottes and the boxy dresses, oversized bows form 1980’s Dallas and Dynasty style with 2020’s styling. “Bigger, bolder and brighter” adds partner Christiaan Gabriel Du Toit, “think French aristocracy meets eastern European money, trailer park beauty and central park glamping with ghetto cool and suburban swank.”

ZEDMEN boasted bespoke tailored attire for the discerning modern-day gentleman. Comprising Custom-Made Suits from Europe and high-quality shirts cut from the finest Italian and German fabrics. Stand out features include firm collars, front panels and cuffs superior look. “Service, expertise and wonderful shopping experience are what we are all about” denotes ZEDmen representative, Willem Venter.

A grand closing! Modern natural fabrics in elegant and comfortable silhouettes embody Jacques LaGrange’s African Couture Ivory Warriors. Depicting timeliness beauty with natural ivory whites of the African Saharan summer. LaGrange is making his mark with a firm belief in locally produced, sustainable fashion for community upliftment through employment and skills training. “Keep it local and educate” marks LaGrange, whilst pushing quality boundaries to ensure international product standards. “Quality, fit and finish are key.”

Models were provided by FanJam and 3-D Model agencies.
